A historic milestone for the Dutch esports scene: Team Liquid, one of the world’s most successful esports organizations, has announced today that it is acquiring Dutch EA FC team (formerly FIFA), Team Gullit. Team Gullit, a venture by full-service digital agency Triple (part of Hypersolid) and named after football legend Ruud Gullit, has been scouting top EA FC talent worldwide for years and developing them into world-class players.

Both Team Liquid and Team Gullit boast strong track records in talent development and international success. In 2024, Team Liquid won The International, the Dota 2 World Championship, for the second time and finished runner-up at the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang World Championship (M6). With nearly $54 million in prize money to date, Team Liquid holds the record for the highest earnings in esports history.

Meanwhile, Team Gullit has risen to become the top EA FC team globally, with a trophy cabinet that includes the FIFAe World Cup (World Championship), the eChampions League, and two European Championship titles.

Triple: a breeding ground for high-impact ventures

Team Gullit was founded as a venture within Triple, which is part of Hypersolid – a global technology & brand experience company with offices in Alkmaar, Amsterdam, Austin (USA), and Gdańsk. Triple was the first European company to launch mobile live streaming and has an impressive innovation track record with clients such as citizenM, VodafoneZiggo, and the Dutch Football Association (KNVB).

Curiosity as the engine of innovation

Before Team Gullit, Triple had already launched other successful ventures, including Mobile Viewpoint (now part of Vislink) and Beyond Sports – an Emmy Award-winning company now under Sony. Each of these ventures grew from the curiosity of Triple’s employees and the company’s commitment to innovation, evolving into businesses that make a measurable impact on the international market.

A championship foundation with homegrown stars

Team Liquid acquires an elite roster of players, including Emre Yilmaz (eChampions League winner 2023), Levi de Weerd (European Champion), and Manuel Bachoore (FIFA World Champion 2023). All three were scouted by Team Gullit at a young age and have since been developed into global EA FC stars.
