For Rituals, true personal well-being is found in the balance of body, mind, and soul. Building on this philosophy, the brand opened the Mind Oasis in 2020, a science-based in-store sanctuary where visitors can step away from the hectic of everyday life and fully relax and recharge body and mind.
Now that same sense of calm has found its way into people's homes. With Mind Oasis At Home, Rituals introduced the world's first relaxation concept built around a soothing haptic vibration mat, a companion app featuring over 14,000 soundscapes tailored to your needs to instantly reduce stress and anxiety, improve sleep, and an elegant frame to complete the setup.
In close collaboration with Rituals, we developed both the app and an online shop, fully integrating them into Rituals’ existing systems and architecture.

Over 25 years, Rituals has built a strong presence in retail, e-commerce, and hospitality partnerships. With Mind Oasis, a new line of business was added to this portfolio. The initial ambition for Mind Oasis At Home was clear: to translate and extend Rituals’ signature brand experience, letting customers enjoy the little things in life and feel good, into a companion app. Our earlier collaboration on the Perfume Genie gave us a strong starting point.
As the project scope evolved, it became clear that integration into the Rituals ecosystem called for more than a companion app. In response, we supported website development and integrated both into Rituals’ existing cloud infrastructure, order management system, CRM, and contact API.

Connecting mission-critical systems through a resilient middle layer
Bringing new touchpoints into Rituals’ digital landscape required deep, reliable integrations with its mission-critical systems of record. Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all setup, we engineered on Google Cloud in harmony with the existing backend landscape. This adaptability kept hosting under Rituals’ control while underscoring our cloud-flexible approach: no lock-ins, just the right setup for each situation.
To ensure stability and scalability, we introduced a resilient middle layer between the user interface and the backend. Acting as the central hub, it aggregates data from multiple sources, reduces complexity, and enforces a clear separation of responsibilities across the application. The result is a stable and maintainable architecture, with server-to-server connections powering every digital touchpoint.
Deep integration with the existing back-end systems
To embed Mind Oasis At Home into the Rituals ecosystem, we connected it with the platforms they rely on for CRM and customer support. In parallel, we integrated Rituals’ identity management solution within their custom content store, secured by Google Identity, via their custom contact API.
By referencing unique IDs rather than storing customer data ourselves, we ensured a secure setup and enabled seamless use of the existing user base. For customers, this means the same Rituals account they already use for purchases can be reused to access Mind Oasis At Home.
Where needed, we added supporting components, including a custom database for specific application requirements and an integration with the soundscape partner. Both were abstracted into the middle layer to minimize complexity and simplify future maintenance.

The architecture also incorporated Rituals’ existing Order Management System (OMS). Unlike most other components, the OMS operates as a self-contained domain; by design, its order flows are not mediated through the middleware. Accordingly, the web experience integrates directly with the system’s APIs for order management, while the middle layer orchestrates the adjacent services.
Although we did not modify the OMS itself, we worked closely with Rituals’ technology partners to align interfaces and event flows between the order system and surrounding systems, including warehouse management, master data management, and the information feed from the mat manufacturer. Meanwhile, the middleware aggregates and normalizes data across the remaining landscape, establishing a robust foundation that did not exist six months before go-live.
Beyond customer-facing touchpoints, we also developed an internal customer care dashboard for Rituals’ support teams. This tool provides direct access to product information and real-time diagnostics for the Mind Oasis At Home devices, surfacing diagnostics, event logs, and an integrated FAQ system with troubleshooting workflows.
Combined with 24/7 second-line IT support and ongoing application maintenance, this setup ensures smooth operations and swift resolution of any issues, sustaining the same sense of calm and reliability behind the experience as it delivers to customers.
Blending firmware, connectivity and feel
Our earlier work on the Perfume Genie companion app laid the groundwork for this Bluetooth-enabled product experience. The Mind Oasis at Home app was built entirely custom, starting from the prototype app supplied by the mat manufacturer. Through Bluetooth, the app connects with the mat to update firmware, read data, and control vibration patterns. Hypersolid extended this further by implementing advanced haptics, defining how the mat moves, vibrates, and adjusts intensity.
We built the app on Rituals’ Digital Experience Platform and connected it to our custom middle layer. This made the app fully dynamic, pulling updates from their translation tools and headless CMS. For Rituals’ teams, this meant they could continue working in their familiar systems and see changes reflected immediately.
To support this, Hypersolid developed a backend-for-frontend pattern centered around the end-user experience. Every decision in this layer; how content flows, how changes propagate, and how data is presented, was made with usability and brand experience in mind.
These principles also guided the Next.js website, where Rituals took the lead on design direction, and Hypersolid collaborated closely to shape the visual design, prototypes, animations, and an optimized product detail page.



Fully agile, deeply collaborative
The project was executed by fully integrated, co-located teams, working both at Rituals HQ and from a dedicated Rituals-styled office at Hypersolid that reflected the brand’s identity. This setup fostered close collaboration, deepened alignment with Rituals’ mission, and strengthened the partnership that began with the Perfume Genie project.
The rollout followed a phased approach, with milestones including the companion app go-live, pre-order website, and full order website. In close collaboration with the Rituals Beauty Tech team, we worked in an agile way, building as requirements evolved.
Even with multiple scope expansions and unexpected challenges, we delivered every milestone on time. Acting as both solution builder and process manager, we bridged gaps between teams, removed blockers, and safeguarded business continuity for Rituals around the clock.


The Rituals Mind Oasis At Home project is a prime example of how Hypersolid brings together technology, integration, and brand experience. By aligning with Rituals’ philosophy and integrating with their digital backbone, we helped extend the brand’s mission of bringing meaningful moments of wellbeing into everyday life.
