WOW Media operates some of the most prominent digital billboard locations in Los Angeles, spanning the stadium districts, downtown corridors, freeways, and the approach to LAX.
Together with Hypersolid, they’ve now built the next version of their digital platform: an intelligent 3D city you travel through, street by street. It’s the commercial heart of their business, where buyers discover the network, preview their work, and turn interest into bookings. A live map of LA, a continuous camera-led tour, an artwork preview tool, a personal media plan, and a layer of contextual intelligence all sit inside one continuous 3D experience.
The new platform is the latest chapter of a long-term partnership. Hypersolid designed and built the original WOW platform from the ground up — the first time the billboard network came online as an immersive 3D experience, with street-level navigation through the city and an artwork preview tool that let buyers see their creative on a real billboard, day or night. That version set the visual language and the standard. This second one goes further: bigger in scope, lighter in feel, and built around the freedom for buyers to explore the network on their own terms.

The gap
What a flat page can’t show
Selling premium billboard space is a sensory business. The value of a placement lives in its scale, its motion, and its place in the city. None of that travels easily onto a website. A flat catalogue can list specs and prices, but it can’t put a buyer inside the moment that makes WOW’s media work. For a business where decisions of this size are made online, that gap is commercial.
WOW needed a digital presence that did more than describe the network. It had to let buyers feel it, plan around it, and act on it.
That insight shaped the experience. WOW’s audience doesn’t experience these billboards as a list. They encounter them while walking, driving, and flying past, as part of a living city. The platform had to mirror that. A continuous, navigable LA where the network can be discovered the way it’s actually seen and made smarter by the context around it: events, flight patterns, audience flows.
We also recognized that buyers think about advertising in personal terms. By neighbourhood. By route. By destination. The platform had to give them that freedom rather than funnel them down a single path.

The build
LA, made navigable
Hypersolid designed and built the platform end-to-end. Strategy and concept, UX and UI design, 3D direction, motion and animation, and WebGL development.
The result is a 3D platform built around three pillars and a layer of intelligence. A live map of WOW’s entire LA coverage. A continuous camera-led tour through every prime location, with billboards animated and the city in motion around them. A personal media plan that lets buyers add billboards from anywhere on the site and request a quote in one step. Buyers can also drop their own artwork onto any billboard to preview it by day and at night, in 3D and in real-location photography.
A contextual layer surfaces real-world insight around each placement: events happening this week, flight schedules linked to LAX, audience flows that shape impact. The front end of this concierge was integrated by our team on top of a third-party AI engine. Throughout, free navigation gives buyers room to move on their own terms.

The result
A network you can step into
The platform now let's buyers experience WOW’s network the way the city does. Alive, in context, and on their terms. From the first interaction with the map to the last click of a media plan, every step happens inside one continuous experience. The result is a digital product that doesn’t just list a network. It inhabits it.

Artwork preview
To enhance client engagement, users can upload artwork to preview how it would appear on real WOW billboards. This feature offers both 3D billboard previews and realistic photo renders, helping clients visualize their ads in context for more informed decisions.

Logo animation
Our 3D logo vignette for WOW Media highlights the brand’s modernity and elegance. The animation begins with glass panels forming the logo through intricate close-ups, showcasing reflections and refractions. Each camera angle reveals unique facets, with a final front-facing shot illuminating the entire logo as a striking glass emblem.
